Covington Clay is located at 16 W. Pike St. in the historic central business district of Covington, Kentucky. This is within walking distance of downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. Our 1860's building has recently undergone extensive renovation to accomodate our state-of-the-art facilities.

A retail store occupies the front of the building and features contemporary pottery by various artists, most of which is made in the Covington Clay studio.

The clay studio is in the rear of the building and is run by artist and owner Rick Hoffman. Rick has over 25 years of experience in making pottery and 20 years of experience teaching others how to make it.

Working with clay is educational, economical, therapeutic and fun. A reasonable fee provides you with entertainment, relaxation, a creative outlet and the ability to make tangible gifts for yourself and others.

Except for specific workshops like the parent/child class, the studio operates in seven-week sessions. If you enroll in a session, you'll enjoy the flexibility of 24/7* access to the studio to allow you to work in private or socialize with others according to your needs.

* The first night of a new session, individuals will submit a six digit personal code which they may use for access to the studio at any time. During posted class times, the priority for wheel use remains with those enrolled in the particular class. Students for beginning pottery must be over age 21 (younger individuals may be admitted at the discretion of the management).

Covington Clay offers a variety of programs to fit anyone's budget and creative desires.
